if you have a bachelor’s degree do you go into the military with a higher pay grade?

do you still go in as an E-1 or something higher?
to be an officer what is the minimum gpa to apply?

I was told back in the mid 70s that if you have 60 or more credit hours, you can go in as an E-3 which in the Marines equals to a Lance Corporal. I went in as an E-2 PFC and when I got out I went to college for 6 years. Want a really good laugh? My pay back then was $411.00 a month.

If yo have a BS degree you can apply for OCS (Officer Candidate School) and go on to be an officer with a much higher pay than any enlisted makes and officers pay grade starts with O-1 = 2nd Lieutenant.

if you choose, you can go into the enlisted field, or officer field. If you go in as a enlisted you will automatically get E-4 SPC, if you go in as a officer, you will get 0-1 2nd LT.

e-1 during basic but then once you out of basic you’ll be an e-3.

those with college degrees and who are enlisted are usually looked down upon.

it depends on what you want to do. if you go enlisted, (not advised), you would go in as an e-3, not an e-4. if you decide to be an officer (recommended), you would go in as an 0-1, or a second lieutenant. you can go to military.com and find out the pay scale and go from there.

That’s a horrible answer by alison. Enlisted personnel don’t get looked down upon. You get looked down upon when you don’t do your job and act like an idiot.

If you go into the Army with a college degree you have two choices. One you can go in enlisted and the other you can become am officer.

Enlisted- You go in as an E4/ and go to basic training.

Officer- You get paid as an E5 while in OCS and once completed you are gived the rank of LT/O1.
